Washington Healthplanfinder is Washington's portal for shopping for health plans, including unique offerings like Washington Apple Health (Medicaid), Cascade Care, and Cascade Care Savings. Created in response to the Affordable Care Act, its goal is to make healthcare more affordable, allowing more individuals to access plans at little or no cost. The platform's mission focuses on improving the way residents of Washington find and retain health coverage through easy-to-use tools and exclusive savings, guided by values of equity, integrity, and respect.
Friends of Friends Medical Support
Friends of Friends Medical Support, founded in 1997 by the late Lynn Willeford, began as a heartfelt effort to help two neighbors struggling with medical bills. By rallying the support of friends, the initiative quickly grew into a grassroots non-profit. To date, the organization has assisted approximately 200 South Whidbey residents annually, disbursing over $1.4 million in aid. Operated by an all-volunteer board and one part-time paid Service Coordinator, Friends of Friends takes pride in providing prompt response, personal attention, and ongoing support to meet the growing needs of the community.
