Youth Curators

Cultivating creativity and empowering artistic expression in students of all ages!

What We Do

At Readiness To Learn, we believe in the transformative power of art and science. Our Youth Curators program does just that, transforming spaces at the South Whidbey Community Center into creative hubs.

Program Highlights

Our Youth Curators work closely with professional creative mentors to envision and build projects that engage our community. These experiences not only nurture their artistic talents but also cultivate their scientific curiosity. It's about more than art it's about developing our next generation of creative thinkers and leaders.

Uprise Gallery

Student Art + Education Space

In the spirit of collaboration and community enrichment, we're thrilled to introduce the Uprise Program. A joint venture with Langley Arts Fund and Langley Creates Creative District, this after-school and enrichment program is much more than a creative outlet — it's a learning environment that nurtures artistic expression. Set in the welcoming space of the South Whidbey Community Center, Uprise offers young artists not just a classroom but also a professional-quality gallery to showcase their talents.

The program was set into motion in mid-2022 and we're excited to announce that it will soon include the expertise of a professional artist-educator. This addition will round out the educational aspect, ensuring that the programming is as enriching as it is enjoyable.

While we're still securing funding for the physical improvements to the space, we're committed to creating an inclusive, dynamic setting where young minds can flourish.
