Celebrate Art and Community at the Uprise Gallery Opening

Saturday, April 20, marks a special day for South Whidbey as we celebrate the grand opening of the Uprise Gallery at Readiness to Learn in the South Whidbey Community Center. We are excited to introduce a new youth arts program and gallery space that promises to enrich our community thanks to our collaboration with Langley Arts Fund, Langley Creates, Campus Stewards, and Woodhaven High School.

A Day Full of Art and Inspiration

From 4:00 to 7:00 PM, we invite you to join us for the inaugural exhibit, "We Create Together: Celebrating Youth + Art." This isn't just a gallery opening; it’s the launch of a new program to enrich youth art education in South Whidbey. The gallery will be a vibrant space for young artists to learn, create, and display artwork.

But the excitement doesn't stop there! Saturday also marks the debut of the Art Cafe in South Whidbey Community Center, where Whidbey Fine Arts has set up a studio and is hosting an all-ages Earth Day Art-Making session led by Green Art Labs. It's the perfect opportunity for families and creators to explore and enjoy community spirit.

Looking Ahead: Exciting Programs for Our Youth

We're also gearing up for our SummerFUN activities, set to start in July, and continuing our popular after-school programs. These programs are not just fun; they are gateways to learning and development for our youth. From STEM exploration to reading with lovable therapy dogs, our initiatives are designed to engage and inspire.
